Install the app on your store, choose a plan on your Shopify bill, connect your workspace, and what your store knows becomes what your assistant knows. It only ever reads your shop -- it writes nothing back and never asks for customers or orders -- and the chat goes on your storefront from the theme editor, never as code pasted into your theme.

What it does
The catalogue, with the parts a description leaves out
Products with their variants, options, SKUs and prices, what is in stock right now, what is reduced from what, and the metafields where you keep material, dimensions and care. Image alt text comes too, because it is often the best sentence about a product anyone has written.
The pages nobody opens until they need them
Shipping, returns, privacy and terms, plus your pages and blog articles. Store policies are what a shopper checks before paying, which makes them the pages an assistant is asked about most.

Install the app on your store
It asks for read access to products and content, and nothing else. No customers, no orders.

Choose a plan
On Shopify's own plan page, charged on your Shopify bill. The same plans and prices as on our pricing page, each with a free trial.

Paste your User ID and an API key
Both are in your workspace under API keys. The key needs the ingest:write scope. They are checked before anything is saved, so a wrong value fails at once.

Choose the knowledge base
The one the store writes into. If you have none yet, the app says so and links you to it.

Turn on the chat in your theme
One switch under App embeds, and the key the app shows you. A search box or an inline chat goes in as a block you add to a section instead. Neither is code you paste, so uninstalling the app takes the chat with it and leaves your theme as it was.

Nothing
The first sync starts on its own. After that, a product or collection change re-syncs within seconds, and a Sync now button refreshes the pages and policies Shopify never announces.
Questions people ask
Does it read my customers or my orders?
No. The app asks for products and content, and asking for nothing more is deliberate: an assistant that answers about the catalogue has no reason to see who bought what.
How current is it?
Products and collections re-sync within seconds of changing, because Shopify tells us. Pages, articles, policies and shipping rates have no webhook in Shopify at all, so they refresh when you press Sync now.
Is it on the Shopify App Store?
Not yet. The app is built, installable and public; the listing is in review. Write to us and we will send you the install link in the meantime.
How is it billed?
On your Shopify bill. You choose the plan on Shopify's own plan page inside your admin: the same plans and prices as on our pricing page, monthly or yearly, each starting with a free trial. Changing plan is one click on the same page, and Shopify prorates it.
I already pay WelcomeAI directly. Do I pay twice?
No. When your store connects, that workspace moves to your Shopify bill, and the subscription you had with us stops renewing at the end of the period you already paid for.
Does it slow my store down?
The reading happens through Shopify's API from our servers and touches your storefront not at all. The chat itself is one 565-byte script, loaded asynchronously, so it cannot delay a page from rendering, and nothing further loads until a shopper opens it.
Does it leave anything behind if I uninstall?
No. The chat is a theme app embed or an app block, and both belong to the app: removing the app removes them, and your theme goes back to exactly what it was. That is the reason neither is a snippet you paste into theme.liquid.
Will it work on Shopify Plus?
Yes. Nothing it reads depends on the plan the store is on.
