Answer with your own API key
Your documents, your knowledge base and the search that finds the right passages all stay inside WelcomeAI. The add-on changes one thing only: the last call to the model. Your own Anthropic and OpenAI keys sign that call, so those providers bill your account for it instead of it counting against your plan.

The add-on costs $99/mo on any plan. Your plan still covers indexing, storage, widgets and analytics - only the model calls move to your account.

Questions people ask before signing up
What counts as an answer?
One reply from the assistant. Questions a visitor asks and abandons do not count, and neither does anything you ask in the Playground.
Does an answer from a bigger model count differently?
One answer is one answer, whichever model wrote it. What changes is the token allowance behind it: every plan includes roughly 5,000 tokens per included answer, and a Claude Sonnet 5 reply spends about three times what the default model does. Answer everything on Sonnet and you will reach the token allowance before the answer allowance, and wait about twice as long for each one. Which models you can pick is set by the plan: Starter answers on Claude Haiku 4.5, Pro and Business add Claude Sonnet 5, and you choose per knowledge base.
What happens when the trial ends?
The workspace goes read only. Your content stays exactly where it is, and picking a plan brings everything back.
Can I use my own AI key?
Yes, on any plan. Bring your own AI key is a $99 a month add-on rather than a plan of its own: you keep the plan you have, and your Anthropic and OpenAI keys answer every question instead of ours. You need both, because OpenAI does the indexing and Anthropic writes the answers.
Who pays for the AI?
On a normal plan, we do, and your plan's monthly answer limit is where that stops. With the Bring your own AI key add-on, your provider accounts do: Anthropic and OpenAI bill you at their prices for exactly what you use, we bill you for the platform, and there is no monthly answer limit because there is nothing of ours left to run out of.
When is bringing my own key cheaper?
From about 3,000 answers a month on our default model, which is the point where a plan on its own has to step up a tier. Below that a plan is cheaper and it is not close: Starter is $75 against $174 for Starter plus the add-on. The honest version is that the add-on is about control and predictability at volume, and if you answer a couple of thousand questions a month it will cost you more, not less.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, in both directions. Moving down takes effect at the end of the period, so you keep what you paid for. The add-on is separate and can be added or removed without touching your plan.
Do you offer refunds?
No. Once a period starts it is not refunded, because the model tokens, embeddings and storage behind it are spent as they are used and cannot be recovered. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep the plan until the period ends. That is why the trial is 14 days of Pro with no card: nothing has to be bought to be evaluated. A duplicate charge, a billing mistake of ours or a charge after a cancellation always goes back, and your statutory rights as a consumer come first - the Refund Policy says all of it plainly.
Do you train models on my content?
No. Your documents are embedded so they can be retrieved, and for nothing else.
What if I go over a limit?
We tell you at 80% and again at 100%. Answers stop rather than billing you for an overage you did not agree to. With the Bring your own AI key add-on there is no limit to go over: your provider bills you for what you use.
