AI chatbot for multilingual websites
One knowledge base, every language your visitors write in
You sell in four countries and your help content is properly written in one language. An assistant retrieves from the material you already have and answers in the language of the question, so the visitor writing in Portuguese is not handed an English FAQ.
There are two ways to serve a second language and both are bad. Translate everything and keep the versions in sync forever, or leave people reading a language they are guessing at. Most sites pick the second and call it a roadmap item.
- Your help centre in whichever language it exists in
- Product, pricing and policy pages
- Documents in several languages in the same knowledge base
- Country-specific shipping, tax or legal notes
What it does
One knowledge base, not one per language
Retrieval works on meaning rather than on matching words, so a question in one language finds the passage that answers it in another. You maintain one set of documents.
The widget speaks the market it is on
Every label, the greeting and the lead form can be written per language, so a Spanish page never opens an English chat around a Spanish answer.
One widget per market, one library behind them
Each site gets its own widget with its own allowed domains and its own wording, and they all read the same documents. Opening a new market is a widget, not a migration.
Questions people ask
Do I have to translate my documents first?
No. The passage is found in whatever language it is written in and the answer comes back in the language of the question. Translating the material improves precision; it is not the price of entry.
Which languages does it handle?
The ones the model handles, which covers the widely written ones. The part you control is the widget's own wording, which you set per language, and the documents you feed it.
Will it answer in the wrong language?
It follows the question, not the page. Someone who writes to a Spanish site in English gets English back, which is usually what they wanted and always what they asked for.
