Get chatbot leads in Slack
A channel hears about every lead, with a button that opens it
A lead answered at nine in the morning and read at six in the evening is a lead somebody else answered first. Slack is where a team already is, so that is where the lead goes: a message with what the person left behind and one button to act on it.
What it does
A button, not a copy-paste
Open the lead goes straight to that lead in your workspace, with its conversation, its answers and its status.
One channel per widget
A widget runs one form, so pinning a route to a widget pins it to that form. A contact widget and a pricing widget reach different channels instead of everything landing in one, and the mapper offers the questions that widget actually asks.
As many Slack apps as you need
Connect Slack more than once and each route picks which app it posts as, so #sales gets notifications from your sales app and #support from your support one, under their own names and icons.
You choose what the message says
Name, email, phone, company, message, page, and one extra line for the question that matters to you. Empty lines are left out rather than posted blank.
How to connect it
Read the full guide- 1
Create a Slack app
api.slack.com/apps, Create New App, From scratch. Add the bot scopes chat:write, chat:write.public and channels:read, then install it to your workspace.
- 2
Connect Slack
In Destinations, paste the Bot User OAuth Token. It starts with xoxb-. We verify it with Slack before storing it. Connect another adds a second app whenever you want one.
- 3
Pick the channel and the widget
Public channels need nothing further; a private one has to have the app invited, and the picker says so before you choose it. Then say which leads this route takes: one widget, or all of them.
- 4
Map the message and test it
Choosing a widget narrows the mapper to the questions its form asks. Then send a sample lead and look at the channel: it arrives marked as a sample and is not stored as a lead.
Questions people ask
Can two forms go to two different channels?
Yes. A widget runs one form, so a route scoped to a widget is a route scoped to its form: put the contact form on one widget and the demo request on another, and each posts to its own channel.
Can I connect more than one Slack app?
Yes. Each connected account is separate and each route chooses which one it posts as, which is how a channel gets notifications under the app name that belongs to it.
Does it work for private channels?
Yes, with the groups:read scope and the app invited to the channel. Until it is invited, Slack answers not_in_channel and the picker warns you.
Can the same lead go to Slack and to my CRM?
Yes. A lead can go to several destinations at once, and each one keeps its own dispatch log.
What about a lead with no email?
Slack still gets it. A CRM record with no way to reach the person is not worth creating, but a channel still wants to know somebody asked.
