Connect WordPress

Install the plugin, connect it to a knowledge base, and sync your posts and pages.

Updated 2026-09-05

The WordPress plugin sends your published content to a knowledge base and keeps it current as you edit.

Install the plugin

  1. In Integrations, download the plugin. It is available on the Pro and Business plans.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and pick the zip.
  3. Activate it. A WelcomeAI entry appears in the admin menu.

Connect it

Create an API key in API keys with the ingest:write scope, then paste it into the plugin's settings screen along with your user ID, which the same page shows you. The plugin validates both before anything else unlocks, so a wrong key fails immediately with a message that says why.

Then pick the knowledge base the site should write into.

Choose what syncs

Select the post types you want. Posts and pages are the usual answer; product or documentation types show up here too if your site has them.

Only published content is sent. Drafts, private posts and password-protected posts stay where they are.

First sync

Run the bulk sync from the plugin. It works in batches and can be resumed, so a large site does not time out. After that, editing a post updates its document within about half a minute, and deleting a post removes it.

If something does not arrive

The plugin keeps a log of what it sent and what came back. The full history, including what the server did with each item, is on the knowledge base's Sources tab under Sync log.
